Philosophy of St. Luke School
Saint Luke School is dedicated to the education and
needs of the whole child. As we prepare the child for a role in society, we involve
spiritual, moral, academic, emotional, social, and physical behaviors. We encourage
responsible decision making, emphasizing that each choice made has a consequence, positive
or negative.Saint Luke School continues the work and
mission of Jesus Christ, an integral part of the child's education. As a Catholic
community, we teach model, and promote the basic teachings of the Catholic Church.
We have an active relationship with the parish, encouraging
students to assume responsible roles within the community. Beyond the school and parish,
students are made aware of their responsibility to the larger community in which we live.
Saint Luke School maximizes the child's potential. We
believe that all children can learn. A qualified faculty, with a sincere interest in young
people, respects difference among them and willingly adapts teaching strategies to
learning styles. Special classes in the language and applied fine arts contribute to this
atmosphere. From liturgical celebrations to athletic events, the staff promotes learning
in a warm, nurturing, positive environment that fosters learning and enhances self-esteem.
Faculty
St. Luke faculty consists of dedicated teachers who have been interviewed and
approved by the Diocesan Catholic Schools Office and administrator of the school. All
teachers are certified by the State of Pennsylvania and remain current in their field by
their participation in classes, workshops and in-service programs.

beliefs of the student. Non-Catholic students are encouraged to participate in class but
