Ladies Auxiliary:
The auxiliary was organized under the fire company's charter in 1949. There were originally eight members.
They were just as interested in helping the community as the men were, this was there way of helping. These women went from door to door on the first Fund Drive with the men. They tell how they were not only bitten by a dog, but actually had one resident chase two of them away from her door with a stick.
In the history of the Kuhl Hose Fire Company, we have seen that whenever the men needed help or equipment, they called on the auxiliary. Even if they were not asked, the women seemed to know when their help was needed. When the new #3 firehouse was built, the auxiliary completely furnished the modern kitchen, they also helped furnish equipment for 682 engine, when it was new in 1992.
The auxiliary meets the last Monday of each month, except May due to memorial day, and No meetings are held in December or January.
In 1998 there are 15 active members. Mrs. Florence Jud is a 50 year member and still very active.
